"I am truly grateful to have received the Billy McKee scholarship. The Bill and Wanda McKee family have turned a tragedy into such a blessing. God has been my rock the past four years of my life and I have tried my best to give everything I am to him. My life has not been easy but I have tried my hardest to make up for my circumstances with hard work and a willingness to learn. I cannot express fully in words what I feel, but relief and gratitude are two words that come to mind. I want to thank the friend and classmates of Billy and his family for setting up this scholarship fund. Your thoughtfulness and generousity has reminded me that God works miracles. Like God says in Jeremiah 29:11, 'I know the plans I have for you, plans to give you hope and a future...' Thank you for being a part of giving me that future."
-Brooke Firestone, 17, Senior at Collegedale Academy
A Legacy of Giving
You are a believer. You do not need convincing about the critical importance of Christian education. As an alumnus of Collegedale Academy, you’ve experienced firsthand the impact an Adventist secondary school has on the life of a young person. While each student’s experience is unique, every student’s experience is profound.
At C.A., our desire is to offer that profound, life-shaping experience to as many students as possible. For many, that requires the generous financial support of those whose lives have been most directly affected by this institution – our alumni. Your support can make the difference for a young person who otherwise could not afford to attend Collegedale Academy.
Please know that your generosity allows us the opportunity to fulfill our mission: to educate, equip, and inspire students to recognize God’s call, reach out to others and reveal His truth.
C.A. Associates
C.A. Associates are a distinguished group of individuals whose outstanding generosity demonstrates a commitment to the tradition of yesterday and the vision of tomorrow.
C.A. Associates are individuals committed to growing the “Spirit of Excellence” through their financial support of projects that enhance the campus and promote the spiritual, intellectual, physical and social development of the students.
Mr. Kermise Rowe, principal and faculty member of Collegedale Academy for twenty-four years embodied, the spirit of a C.A. Associate. His diligent care for the school facilities, while serving as vice principal and principal, was outdone only by his servant leadership towards both students and faculty. He was a charter member of the C.A. Associates, and his love for Collegedale Academy never wavered.
Dues to be a C.A. Associate are $500 per year. This contribution can be paid in installments or throughout the year. For more informtion on becoming a C.A. Associate contact Matt Nafie at (423)396-2124 ext 431 or go the the CONTACT US tab above.
Billy McKee Endowment
This scholarship fund has just recently been established by friends and classmates to honor Billy McKee. The primary focus will be to provide partial scholarships to students at Collegedale Academy and/or A.W. Spalding. The scholarship criteria will focus on students who demonstrate and promote personal responsibility as Billy did. Some of these character traits will include compassion, integrity, honesty, friendship, loyalty, and respect. Contribution can be made out to Collegedale Academy/Billy McKee Memorial Fund or you can click on Donate above.
Roy F. Battle Scholarship Fund
Family and friends have set up the Roy F. Battle Memorial Scholarship Fund in his memory. The Beneficiaries of this scholarship will be worthy students who are active in many areas and demonstrate a well rounded Christian character while attending Collegedale Academy. Contributions can be made out to Collegedale Academy/ Roy F. Battle Scholarship Fund or you can click on Donate above. Two scholarships, one to a senior boy, are presented at graduation each year.
Jenni Lytle Scholarship Fund
Family and friends have set up the Jenni Lytle Class of 2002 Memorial Scholarship Fund. Jenni loved life, had a smile that warmed you, would root for the underdog and reached out to those in need. Each year at graduation, a student with similar character traits is presented the Jenni Lytle Memorial Scholarship. Contributions can be made out to Collegedale Academy/Jenni Lytle Memorial Scholarship.
Worthy Student Fund
The Worthy Student Fund must be a priority of the Development Office and our donors if we are to fullfill our mission as a school. That mission is: to educate, equip, and inspire students to recognize God's call, reach out to others, and reveal His truth.
It must always be before us that some of our young people would never have the opportunity to attend Collegedale Academy if it were not for the Worthy Student Fund.
Franklin Farrow '90, who is a faithful supporter of the Worthy Student Fund commented, "I found that although education is very important, it is also equally important who you learn and experience life with during your formative years. Being a part of CA is not only a great education, but the opportunity to build friendships here on earth and more importantly with God in Heaven." With more than 2,000 alumni, it is realistic for us to set a goal of $200,000 for C.A.'s Worthy Student Fund. Last year you helped us reach $166,000 in a down economy, this was our highest total ever, but still represented only 10% of the alumni.
Please know that your generosity will make a difference to a student “now and later” as they learn to love Christ and serve others.
